My guiding principles

Three things I hold to whether I am designing a schema or a screen.

Performance first

A feature that loads slowly is a feature people skip. I budget for payload and query cost while building, not after the complaints arrive.

Clean architecture

Clear module boundaries and typed contracts across the stack, so the next person to open the repo can change one thing without breaking three others.

Engaging UX

Interfaces should tell you what just happened. Real-time feedback, honest empty states, and motion that guides attention instead of demanding it.
